VETRA 1950s–60s Vintage Tea-Dyed Cotton Workwear Coat
A vintage French workwear coat from VETRA, dating back to the 1950s–1960s. Originally designed as a men's work coat, this piece has been subsequently tea-dyed, giving its cotton fabric a soft, muted beige-pink tone and a beautifully aged appearance.
The dyeing process has created subtle variations in colour throughout the garment, adding depth and character to its otherwise simple, utilitarian design. The relaxed silhouette features a distinctive asymmetric button closure running from the right shoulder down the front, a round neckline, generous patch pockets, and a detachable-looking belt detail that allows the waist to be gently defined.
Originally a men's size 50, the coat has an oversized fit that works beautifully across different body types. The sleeves can be rolled up for a more relaxed proportion, while the long, straight silhouette makes it equally suitable for men and women. A quietly distinctive piece that carries the charm of both traditional French workwear and the passage of time.
