An early Issey Miyake Inn. ensemble from Autumn/Winter 1991, comprising a wrap jacket and generously draped harem pants. Cut from a subtly lustrous, grey-toned purple fabric, the set reflects the relaxed, unconventional silhouettes associated with Japanese fashion of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The jacket features an overlapping front, loose sleeves and a softly structured silhouette that can be shaped with a detachable waist tie. The voluminous trousers are distinguished by an exceptionally low dropped crotch and gathered draping, creating a fluid, sculptural form in movement. Together, the two pieces balance generous proportions with a sense of ease, while the muted purple-grey tone lends a quiet elegance. Both pieces can also be worn separately.
